![]() I don't have any complaints with any of the Kirkland papers. That certainly means you should take the reviews with a grain of salt, since they are reviewing different things. Their page for 4圆 paper still shows "made in Mexico" for example : It could also just be that the web site is not updated to reflect the latest supplier & packaging changes. I've tried a number of glossy papers and as long as you don't mind the very high level of OBA's the Kirkland has a very special quality that I haven't seen in the other papers I've tried. If they are sourcing from multiple suppliers I guess the best thing is just to buy in bulk if you decide you like the paper. ![]() That would make profiling tricky if you never know if you are getting the same paper twice. It may be that Costco just ships you whatever they have in stock that day. But in fact, the one I received is Made in Japan. The image in the email for those shows "made in Mexico". The pictures in the order confirmation email shows the same packaging currently on for the 13x19, which is not what I received. It's a white box with a Kirkland sticker at the bottom. The packaging on the made in USA 11x17 and 13x19 looks different than the others. The only other 13x19 sheets I have are Canon Pro Luster, and more recently Red River Pearl Metallic. I don't have any complaints but I am not a pro, and don't have many points of comparison either. Hard to imagine it is better but I simply don't know. I don't know anything about the paper made in the USA and I have never tried those sizes. My Kirkland 11x17 and 13x19 are made in USA. I just checked, and my Kirkland 4圆 and 8.5x11 are both made in Japan. My guess is that Mitsubishi is the actual manufacturer but that is simply a guess. The paper from Japan is MUCH better than the old stock that was made in Mexico. I have the 11x14 purchased in the last year and the 8.5x11 purchased in the last month and they are both from Japan and appear identical. Generally, you can make a pretty good guess about whether they are from the same supplier by the country of origin. Not much different profile wise unless you are printing Abs. Yes, I bought some new Costco Glossy about 6 months ago and it has about 50% more OBAs than the older paper. If I knew how much I liked the Pro-100 in general I would have really stocked up then LOL. Then if you bought two ink cartridges they gave you 150 pages of 13x19" paper plus two 8.5x11 sample packs. I did take advantage of an amazing deal back in October before I even started printing with the Pro-100. I haven't seen any of the great paper deals on the Canon site that I've heard talked about on here and generally the best deals don't seem to apply to the Luster or Platinum Pro papers that I think I would want to use. But thanks for pointing it out and I'll give it a try. I haven't tried the media type/profile combination mentioned in that link but I think that the supplier of the Kirkland paper has changed since 2014 so even if it was great then it might not work well now. Nowadays, I use Canon papers, because if you watch carefully, you can get them as cheap or cheaper than Costco: His YouTube web page is a great resource for any photo printing techies and especially ones who use 3rd party inks. He has a roomful of Canon and Epson printers, prints on all sorts of media and really knows his stuff! ![]() If you suspect the profile, then I would recommend you contact JToolman ( JToolman Homepage ) who has started doing custom profiles at a very reasonable cost ($25 or less/profile) JToolman Profiles.
